The company

Saorlin

We own software, and we keep it.

Saorlin buys and builds software products, then holds on to them.

There is no outside fund, and no date when we have to sell. Each product keeps its own name, its own people, and its own plan.

If a product is worth keeping, we keep it.

Saorlin is a company that owns software businesses. We buy them or we build them, and we plan to keep them. There is no fund behind us with a date for a sale.

The name comes from saor, the Irish word for "free". It is a nod to where the founder is from. It does not describe how the company works.

The founder still runs Saorlin, and the company is privately owned. Vigorix and QAT each keep their own name, their own team, and their own plans. Saorlin looks after the paperwork and the money, and leaves the day-to-day work to the people building the product.

  • We keep what we own

A product stays with us for as long as it is worth running. That can be a very long time.

  • Each product stays separate

They keep their own customers and their own direction. The teams stay separate, and we do not send one product's customers to the other.

  • One job each

Every product does one thing, and tries to do it well.

  • We stay in the background

Saorlin handles the legal side and the money. Day-to-day decisions stay with the product.
